Ancillary Task Research: Jack Johnson

Jack Johnson shares a similar genre to Ed Sheeran. He follows the stereotypical conventions of a relaxed guitar player/singer which is very common within the genre.

By observing Jack Johnson's album cover for "Jack Johnson and Friends" it uses elements which we can use for our final piece.

The album is stylised which follows his trend of cartoon which is a theme he uses for all of his album covers. By continuing this theme he has created a style which is instantly recognisable by his fans.

The image which has been placed upon the background is taken straight from his video "Upside Down". This is obvious due to he is wearing the same clothes with the same guitar. This is a technique which we may use as it will directly relate our music video with our ancillary task. This will show our audience that they are directly related and make the combination between the two more effective.
