Music Video Research: Mix of narrative and performance

This music video for The Wanted - Warzone uses techniques which I would like to include within my video.
The cuts between narrative and performance which are used are the same style which I want to use for my video, showing the performing alone and then cutting to a different scene featuring the narratives.
The video also uses slow motion with the climax of the song in the narrative. Although our song doesn't have the same climax moment, I want to use slow motion to exaggerate points within my narrative and as it has worked so well within this video it has encouraged me to use this.
